Ethan Wate has spent most of his life longing to escape the stiflingly small Southern town of Gatlin. He never thought he would meet the girl of his dreams, Lena Duchannes, who unveiled a secretive, powerful, and cursed side of Gatlin, hidden in plain sight. And he never could have expected that he would be forced to leave behind everyone and everything he cares about. So when Ethan awakes after the chilling events of the Eighteenth Moon, he has only one goal: to find a way to return to Lena and the ones he loves.
Back in Gatlin, Lena is making her own bargains for Ethan's return, vowing to do whatever it takes -- even if that means trusting old enemies or risking the lives of the family and friends Ethan left to protect.
Worlds apart, Ethan and Lena must once again work together to rewrite their fate, in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series.(Goodreads.com)
For those of you that have never read this series or just haven't read this book yet stop reading now! There may be some spoilers from this book and the others. If you haven't read this series definitely give it a try. It's not for everyone but it never hurts to try a book. Well usually it doesn't hurt....
After about a year of waiting (for me even longer since I had to wait to get a copy) we finally find out how this story ends. The ending of Beautiful Chaos left me in shock and with the desire to know if Ethan was actually dead or if he lived somehow. The mental image of him falling, falling, and falling off the water tower is what I started this book with.
I loved that they had both Lena and Ethan's POV's in this book. It gave us a better look at what Lena's like and how she thinks. This book also let's us see Ethan transition from needing help or watching Lena overcome the challenge in the book to being able to overcome it all on his own. His journey to get his life back after someone else altered the caster chronicles causing his death was really interesting. I really liked reading this book and this series overall.
